Profitability often takes precedence over social responsibility for regulators and operators, who tend to focus on meeting public expectations rather than genuinely striving for balanced outcomes.

some cases, the pursuit of profitability may overshadow genuine social responsibility concerns. Operators may prioritize maximizing profits over implementing effective harm minimization measures, leading to inadequate support for problem gamblers and insufficient resources allocated to responsible gambling initiatives.

I think a lot of regulators and operators really do try to respect social responsibility norms and put players' welfare first. To encourage safe and responsible gaming environments, they put policies in place like age verification processes, self-exclusion alternatives, and responsible gambling initiatives. 8-) :) ;)

It's like regulators and operators are walking a tightrope between making money and doing the right thing for society. Sometimes they seem genuinely invested in both, but other times it feels like they're just doing the bare minimum to avoid criticism. It's probably a bit of both, depending on who you ask and what's at stake.
