SPLIT OR NOT?
TIP5: DON'T SPLIT TWO 10's
- Given that the aim of the game is to get as close to 21 as possible, two 10's is a very good hand. You should just stand as it will be hard for the dealer to beat you.
TIP6: NEVER SPLIT TWO 4's
- Splitting two 4's is never a good plan. If you play the 4's as one hand your unlikely to bust, the highest you can get is an ACE, giving you a pretty good hand of 19. By splitting the 4's you will most likely end up with the lower value hand and a higher chance of eventually busting.
TIP7: NEVER SPLIT TWO 5's
- Having a pair of 5's give you the value of 10, this is a good hand for you to get in the high value range of 18-21, if you split you'll be left with a week a hand if you get 1,3 or 4 and worse still it could leave you with a hand that you can bust out on if you hit on six or higher.
TIP8: ALWAYS SPLIT TWO ACES
- Playing two aces as one hand, you starting value will be 12 leaving the only option of being dealt a 9 to make 21. If you split the aces you have 4 ways to get 21 in either hand, this could be being dealt a 10, jack, queen or king.
TIP9: ALWAYS SPLIT TWO 8's
- The worst hand in blackjack is the value of 16, splitting two 8's gives you a much better chance of winning with at least one hand rather than standing with 16 or taking the chance of getting higher by taking another hit.
