The longest word in the English language, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine silica particles. It has 45 letters.

It's definitely not an easy word to say, but it's a great example of how scientific terminology can sometimes result in some pretty interesting and complex words!
